For Magic's Sake
The majority of the time, as magicians, we focus on our audiences. Meaning, all attentions and efforts go into making sure we deliver a powerful show. But instead of the audience, let's take a moment to focus that same energy onto us - the community of magic. It's important to make sure quality magicians are bred for generations to come.
Sorcerers Safari Magic Camp, the Magic Video Blog and X-elent Lecture Series are just three examples of charity work which directly benefits magic & the magic community on a global level. Let me take a moment to share some information with you about these projects and explain how I'm involved with each one.

Sorcerers Safari Magic Camp
Now in it's 14th year of operation, Sorcerers Safari Magic Camp teaches the art of magic to young people. Canada's premiere magic camp attracts an international student body, including youths from all over America, Canada, Japan, South Africa, Belgium, France and England. This all-inclusive week long performance arts based program, in the middle of a modern camp atmosphere, is geared to teach children life skills necessary to excel in this day and age.
I'm proud to say this will be my 10th consecutive summer volunteering with this wonderful organization. If you're of age to be a camper, or know someone who is, take a moment to read more about Sorcerers Safari Magic Camp and share this information with them.

Magic Video Blog
Using the tools of today, the Magic Video Blog encourages the youth of tomorrow, to study the legendary magicians of yesterday. Almost every day for the past 2 years, I've posted a vintage magic video, along with a small biography and a link for further information about each artist.
Watching professionals only increases the chances of you improving your own magic. It also helps educate you about magic's rich past. In turn, the art of magic advances. It's a free resource for you to use, study and benefit from. Make your shows better. Learn how to be a great magician. Continue your magic education today. Watch a vintage magic video now.

X-elent Lecture Series
Lecturers inspire our community to improve. Having stability in a region, with a consistent flow of top-tier talent, only helps strengthen the art of magic.
For the past seven years, as lead organizer, I've brought in acts like like Greg Frewin, Aaron Fisher, Eric Anderson, Banachek, Bob Sheets, Eric Evans, Mathieu Bich, Michael Ammar, Richard Turner, Silly Billy, Allan Ackerman, Michael Weber, David Williamson and many more. These performers have traveled thousands of miles to share their brand of magic with the X-elent Series community.
Comprised of Eugene (Oregon, USA), Portland (Oregon, USA), Seattle (Washington, USA) Victoria (B.C, Canada), Vancouver (B.C., Canada), Edmonton (Alberta, Canada), Calgary (Alberta, Canada), and Winnipeg (Manitoba, Canada), we all work together in order to provide one of the most desired lecture regions in the world.
Most important, when I started the X-elent Series its goal was (and still is) not for any personal profits, rather to improve the community as a whole as well as make sure the artists are taken care of better than anywhere else they lecture. Do you, or someone you know, live within the X-elent Lecture Series territory? Tell someone about the next magic lecturer on the X-elent Lecture Series today.

I'm passionate about these three projects and share them with you in the hope that you or someone you know may benefit from them. Coming to Sorcerers Safari Magic Camp, watching a magic video blog vintage video or from attending an X-elent Series Lecture may be a great help to you or your peers on your journey through the art of magic. For this reason I urge you to share this information with others so that they might benefit as well.
In times like these, it's crucial to motivate and inspire ourselves to be better. Why? Because, right now, we could all use a little more magic in our lives.
